The Whole Journey.
Jeep, car, driver, water and all road costs. Meals and entrance fees are on you — that way you choose what you eat and what you explore.
Jeep + Car Combo
A private car transfers you from Hội An to Hải Vân Pass — then an open-top Army Jeep takes over for the most scenic stretch to Huế. Best of both worlds.
Hai Van Pass Summit
The legendary mountain pass — at the top, the South China Sea stretches out on both sides and the colonial-era fort stands at the summit. One of Vietnam's great views.
Waterfall Swimming Stop
A hidden jungle waterfall with a natural green pool — swim, cool down, stay as long as you like. One of the most rewarding stops on the whole route.
Lang Co Beach
Lunch break on one of Vietnam's most beautiful beaches — long, white sand, clear water, the mountains behind. Lunch is your own to choose and pay for.
Lap An Lagoon
Mirror-flat water, fishing huts on stilts, the Trường Sơn mountains reflected in the surface. The most photogenic 10 minutes of the whole journey.
Hotel Pickup & Drop-off
Door-to-door from your hotel in Hội An, Đà Nẵng or Huế city centre. 8:00 AM departure — flexible if needed.
A private car collects you from Hội An and drives the first stretch to Hải Vân Pass — the Jeep isn't permitted on parts of the main highway. At the pass, your open-top Army Jeep takes over for the mountain and coastal drive into Huế. You get the Jeep for the scenic section that matters most.
Hội An → Huế.
The Best Way.
155 kilometres of Vietnam's most varied coastline and mountain scenery — condensed into one full day that most travellers call the highlight of their trip.
-
08:00
Pickup in Hội An
Private car collects you from your hotel. Comfortable, air-conditioned ride for the first leg — your driver briefs you on the day ahead.
-
~09:00
Marble Mountain — Ngũ Hành Sơn
Five marble and limestone hills rising suddenly from flat coastal plain. Cave shrines, ancient carvings, panoramic views over Đà Nẵng and the South China Sea. Optional entrance fee applies.
-
~10:30
Hải Vân Pass — Jeep Handover
The car drops you at the foot of the pass. Your open-top Army Jeep takes over here — helmets aren't needed, wind very much is. The road up is carved into the cliffside above the sea.
-
Summit
Hải Vân Pass Summit
At the top: the old French and Việt Minh fortifications, the colonial gate arch, and a 360° view that takes in the South China Sea on both sides of the peninsula. One of Vietnam's great landscapes. Take your time.
-
~12:00
Lăng Cô Beach — Lunch Stop
Down from the pass to one of Vietnam's most beautiful beaches — long white sand, calm turquoise water, fishing boats in the bay, mountains behind. Lunch here is on your own — there are several good local restaurants right on the sand.
-
~13:30
Hidden Waterfall — Jungle Swimming
Off the main road, through forest tracks: a hidden waterfall with a deep natural pool of clear green water. Swimming, scrambling on the rocks, cooling off under the falls. The Jeep waits; there's no hurry.
-
~15:30
Lập An Lagoon
The most photogenic stop on the route — a vast, mirror-flat lagoon with fishing huts on stilts, the Trường Sơn mountains reflected in the water. Best light of the day is usually here.
-
~16:30
Arrive Huế
Drop-off at your hotel in Huế city centre. A full day — 155 km of Vietnam's finest scenery, two swims, one summit, and a lot of wind in your hair.
Six Stops.
All Extraordinary.
Every stop on this route is genuinely worth stopping for — not a checkbox, but a place people remember.
Hải Vân Pass
Vietnam's famous "Ocean Cloud Pass" — the French-era fort, the colonial gate, the sea on both sides. The country's most iconic mountain drive.
Jungle Waterfall
Off-road through the forest to a hidden cascade and natural swimming pool. The kind of place most tourists never find.
Lập An Lagoon
Mirror-flat water, fishing huts on stilts and the mountains reflected in perfect stillness. Possibly the most beautiful 10 minutes on the whole journey.
Lăng Cô Beach
Long white sand beach at the foot of the pass. Lunch on the beach — fresh seafood, cold drinks, the mountains right behind you.
Open-top Army Jeep
Roof off, wind up, road ahead — an open Army Jeep on mountain curves feels unlike any other way to travel Vietnam.
One-Way or Return
Works perfectly as a one-way transfer from Hội An to Huế — or from Huế to Hội An. Door-to-door, private, nothing shared.

What Guests Say.
Unfiltered.
"We were standing on the open Jeep at the top of Hai Van Pass with the sea on both sides — I genuinely couldn't believe it was real. Then the waterfall, then the lagoon at golden hour. Best day of our whole trip to Vietnam."
"The hidden waterfall is something else — our driver knew every back track and side road. The Jeep over the pass was spectacular. And Lap An Lagoon at the end was completely silent and surreal. Absolutely worth every cent."
"We went Hue to Hoi An and the reverse route was just as incredible. Three of us in the open Jeep on the pass — the kind of freedom you remember for years. Don't take the bus. Just don't."
Frequently Asked Questions
Everything guests ask before booking the Hội An–Huế Jeep tour.

The Army Jeep doesn't have a permit to operate on parts of the main Đà Nẵng highway. So a private car handles the Hội An–Hải Vân stretch comfortably, then at the pass your open-top Jeep takes over for the scenic mountain and coastal drive into Huế. You get the Jeep for the part of the journey that actually matters — the pass, the coast, the waterfall, the lagoon.
